The definition of the men's squash team event at the Pan American Games Santiago 2023 was historic for Colombia. The national team, consisting of Miguel Ángel Rodríguez, Juan Camilo Vargas, and Ronald Palomino, started their journey in the quarterfinals against Chile, winning the series 2-0.

In the semifinal, Colombia faced Canada, and once again, the national players avoided the third game, winning the matchup 2-0 and advancing to the grand final. Colombia competed for the gold against Argentina. In the first match, Vargas defeated Jeremías Azaña (3-1), and in the second match, Miguel Ángel Rodríguez battled to defeat Leandro Romiglio (3-2). This victory not only secured the series but also the gold medal, setting a historic record.

With 28 golds, Colombia achieved its highest number of gold medals in a single edition of the Pan American Games, surpassing the 27 from Lima 2019. This remarkable accomplishment, coupled with the overall high number of medals, exceeding the previous record set in Guadalajara 2011, makes Santiago 2023 the best Pan American Games in the history of Colombian sports.
